Ernst Haeckel was a German biologist, naturalist, and artist known for his detailed and aesthetically pleasing illustrations of flora and fauna. His work significantly contributed to the field of biological classification and remains influential in both science and art. The plate "Anthomedusae Blumenquallen (Tafel 46)" is notable for its vibrant depiction of various jellyfish species, characterized by their delicate, translucent bodies and intricate details. The artwork utilizes a harmonious palette of soft blues, pinks, and yellows, highlighting the ethereal beauty of these marine creatures.
