This wonderful old map of Milan was originally published in 1730. It was created by Matthaus Seutter.
This map was published between the Spanish Succession and when Napoleon invaded and declared Milan the capital of the Cisalpine Republic. Milan Archdiocese is the largest in Europe, and on this map, you can see many churches dotted around the city.
At the bottom of the map is a pictorial view of what the city would look like, and as you can see, the mighty Sforzesco Castle is surrounded by a moat and stands out.
This map looks great at all sizes: 10x10 inches (25x25cm), 12x12in (31x31cm), 14x14 inches (36x36cm), 16x16in (41x41cm), 18x18in (46x46cm), 24x24 inches (61x61cm), 36x36 inches (92x92cm), 45x45 inches (114.5x114.5cm), 50x50 inches (127x127cm) and 60x60 inches (152.5x152.5cm), but it looks even better when printed large.
I can create beautiful, large prints of this map up to 90in (229cm). Please get in touch if you're looking for larger, customised or different framing options.
The model in the listing images is holding the 18x18in (46x46cm) version of this map.
The fifth listing image shows an example of my map personalisation service.
Please note the unframed 24x24 inches (61x61cm) map has white edges around the map. These edges can help you with framing, or if you don’t need them they are very easy to snip off with scissors. All other maps, including the framed maps, look exactly like the listing images.
If you’re looking for something slightly different, another option would be this amazing map of Rome by Georg Braun in 1588.
The locations on this map include: San Carlo al Lazzaretto, Sforzesco Castle, Duomo di Milano, Santa Maria delle Grazie, Basilica di Sant'Ambrogio and Pinacoteca di Brera.

This would make a wonderful birthday, Christmas, Father's Day, work leaving or housewarming gift for someone interested in Milan or the history of the fashion capital of the world.
This map is available as a giclée print on acid free archival matte paper, or you can buy it framed. The frame is a nice, simple black frame that suits most aesthetics. Please get in touch if you'd like a different frame colour or material. My frames are glazed with super-clear museum-grade acrylic (perspex/acrylite), which is significantly less reflective than glass, safer, and will always arrive in perfect condition.
